Staycation: To the Manor Born

For self-catering in serious style this summer, the Dorchester Collection has introduced North Lodge, a holiday cottage in the grounds of Coworth Park hotel and spa. Perfectly private, with its own garden for those wishing to hideaway, the former gatehouse is just a short stroll from the Mansion house – with its Michelin-starred restaurant – and the award-winning spa, and guests are encouraged to make full use of these, plus the Equestrian Centre and other five-star facilities. Decorated in a relaxed and informal country house style, with British-made furnishings and art, accommodation is offered in three stunning bedrooms, two featuring en suite facilities complete with signature Coworth Park copper bathtubs. Downstairs, a fully-equipped kitchen incorporates full surface induction hob with Teppan Yaki plate, steam oven, Sous Vide unit, barista quality coffee machine and wine conditioner, providing the ultimate spot for hosting very special dinner parties. Alternatively, guests can take advantage of the dedicated chef who, on request, can prepare the same Coworth Park restaurant quality food in a more intimate setting. Or, take advantage of the opportunity for an impromptu private masterclass for the whole family around the dining table or kitchen island. North Lodge is the second private standalone cottage at Coworth Park, joining the grade II listed Dower House.

North Lodge is available to book for up to six guests, with rates starting at £3,500 inc VAT per night, minimum five-night stay. For details, see dorchestercollection.com
