The Ultimate Power Hydrating Treatment

At this time of the year body concerns can magnify as we’re not covering up in big jumpers and coats. One major concern for many is the décolletage area, but fear not as help is at hand. We all know it’s important to take our facial skin care routine all the way down to our chest, but age, gravity and the sun all take their toll and sometimes we need a little help in plumping up that area.

There is a lot on the aesthetic market that offers solutions, but I’ve heard great things about Teoxane Laboratories and their TEOSYAL® PureSense Redensity 1 solution. It uses a light reflecting hyaluronic acid with a unique dermo-restructuring complex to enhance moisture within the skin. The treatment consists of multiple micro-injections, injected into the papillary dermis across the entire area so that the dermo-restructuring complex is spread evenly, and that gives an instance natural glow to the skin. The treatment can be used all over the face, neck, hands as well as the décolletage area.

I head to The Cosmetic Skin Clinic on Devonshire Place and meet Dr Pamela Benito who’s going to be doing my treatment. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that I instantly want Dr Benito to become my new best friend. Warm, knowledgeable, caring and very funny, the fact that she’s sticking a needle many, many times into my chest seems immaterial. Yes there’s no way around the fact that this is an uncomfortable treatment, but numbing cream is offered and I speak from experience to say that I’ve tried with and without and I would vote GO FOR THE CREAM if asked! The treatment takes around 20 minutes and there is very little swelling or redness afterwards, although you can see where the needle has gone in and it looks a little odd, within 24 hours the treated area is back to normal, so maybe don’t plan a night out straight after your appointment.

In terms of why it’s so effective, here’s the science. Created in Switzerland by Teoxane Laboratories, TEOSYAL® PureSense Redensity 1 uses mesotherapy to concentrate the hyaluronic acid in the skin using a patented hyaluronic acid formula. An effective cocktail of nutrients, the skin receives eight amino acids (Glycine, Lysine, Threonine, Proline, Isoleucine, Leucine, Valine and Arginine), three antioxidants (Glutathione, N-Acetyl, L-Cysteine and Alpha Lipoic Acid), Vitamin B6 and two Minerals (Zinc and Copper), all naturally present in the skin. The formula also contains lidocaine, an anaesthetic which makes the procedure more comfortable for the patient and the very lightness of the gel exerts low pressure into the tissue, resulting in a low incidence of swelling.

Containing a high molecular weight of hyaluronic acid, as well as a cocktail of additional nutrients, allows the treatment to really target the skin, tissue health and integrity. As free hyaluronic acid is absorbed by the body quickly, nutrients such as amino acids, antioxidants and minerals ensures long lasting skin improvements; the core formula also includes ingredients that help lighten pigmentation and speed up skin healing and cell turnover.

I’m told ideally to have three treatments, three weeks apart, and then after that top ups as required. I notice a difference after the first treatment, my skin is plumped up and my cleavage looks much improved. I really do feel that having the occasional top up appointment will be instrumental in keeping this part of my body looking as young as it can, and I leave laden down with a lovely Teoxane serum and SPF moisturiser to keep up the good work at home.
