The RBA Annual Exhibition returns to St James’s Mall Galleries, running until 8 March. Showcasing an impressive selection of contemporary art, the show brings together work from Royal Society of British Artists members and artists selected via an international open call, making it a must-visit for collectors and art lovers alike.

Founded in 1823 and granted the ‘Royal’ prefix in 1887, the RBA has a rich history of promoting the best of British art. The Annual Exhibition serves as a platform for artists working across a diverse range of mediums and styles, reflecting the society’s commitment to ‘the eclectic and progressive nature that has always been the hallmark of our Society’ (Michael Harrison, President of the RBA). With over 500 works on display, spanning painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, this year’s show is the largest in Mall Galleries’ history.
Among the exhibition’s highlights are the prize-winning works by Guila Cantarutti, Catherine Chambers, Guy Portelli, and Martin Leman, recipients of the de Laszlo Foundation Award and the Huaicun Zhang Awards. These accolades reinforce the RBA’s dedication to recognising and supporting artistic talent at all stages of a career, providing a vital platform for both emerging and established artists.

Visitors will also find standout pieces from renowned artists including Melissa Scott-Miller, Malcolm Ashman, and Forbes 30 Under 30 artist Habib Hajallie. For those looking to discover fresh talent, the exhibition features exciting new voices from the RBA Rome Scholarship and Rising Stars programme, such as Joshua Donkor and Aelfred Hilman.
Alongside the exhibition, the RBA has curated a series of engaging events. Highlights include a panel discussion with Rising Star Joshua Donkor, an evening lecture by acclaimed war artist Arabella Dorman, and a range of female-led workshops and demonstrations in celebration of International Women’s Day.
All exhibited works are available to browse and purchase online throughout the show’s duration, offering visitors the chance to take home a unique piece of contemporary British art.
