My London: Karen Scofield in W11

Owner of fashion brand LUCZA, Karen Scofield tells us about her favourite part of London.

Why do you like W11?
The community spirit – I love knowing my neighbours, the proprietors of local shops and cafés, and of course the stall holders on Portobello Road.
There are fabulous gardens and parks, and great restaurants. Portobello Road, Golborne Road and Westbourne Grove all have something different to offer. It’s great for people watching, too…

Any local favourites?
There are too many lovely shops, but the ones I find myself in most often are Couverture & The Garbstore, The Cross, Aimé and, of course, Matches for me, and I Love Gorgeous for my daughters. Ottolenghi or 202 are great for a mid-shop pick me up.

What do you look for in a home?
We’re currently in a small but perfectly formed three-bed house. It has a lovely little patio leading onto a communal garden. To have outdoor space in a major city is extraordinary, so we are incredibly lucky to have found it. I’m from New York where there aren’t so many older buildings with character, so I really like the high ceilings and period features.

Describe your interiors style.
When it comes to furniture, much like the LUCZA collection, I tend toward modern classics in neutral colours, and then spice things up with colourful accents like cushions and ceramic vases.

What are you biggest sellers?
Our gorgeous silk peasant blouse with the tassel details and the Audrey cigarette trousers – both classics.

LUCZA would like to offer a £20 gift voucher, plus free delivery and returns to all Fabric readers. See our Offers pagefor more details.
