Vertical Living

As much as we’d love to live in a Grade II listed, stucco fronted villa set within the sprawling grounds of a leafy, north west London estate, the reality for many of us in our beloved (but let’s be honest, overcrowded) city is that we’re more likely to set up home a few floors up. This, of course is no bad thing, given the wealth of luxury new build developments popping up all over London. Yup, we’re fully embracing vertical living, and it just so happens that excitingly, a brand new property and interiors book of the same name has popped onto our desks for a sneak peek. It reads…

“To be at the centre of a great city such as London, Hong Kong, New York or Mumbai is to feel at the heart of the world… Thanks to cutting-edge interior designers, architects and developers, these new high-density urban complexes are reinventing city living as a luxurious and desirable lifestyle.”

Dominic Bradbury and John Hitchcox have teamed up with leading lifestyle and interiors developer, yoo to present a beautiful coffee table hardback, complete with some very handsome interiors shots and design ideas specific to life in a high rise. Just a quick flick through will have you lusting over some of the world’s most stylish apartments with enticing chapters including Grand Entrances, Communal Retreats, Open-Plan Living and even Outdoor Living for that all-important design inspiration when it comes to decking out our balconies, terraces and roof-top gardens. And if you can peel your eyes away from the lush illustrations, the book is also packed with advice from top international designers such as Philippe Starck, Kelly Hoppen and Marcel Wanders, who have given exclusive interviews. We don’t know about you, but we’re beginning to get lofty ambitions.
