Spring is here!

It’s time to celebrate. We’ve made it through. Winter is over and tomorrow (20 March) heralds the very first day of spring. That’s the official first day – we did get a bit previous last weekend, what with our gloriously unseasonal weather, but who could have blamed us, eh? The winter coats were shed, the Capital’s pub gardens were bursting at the seams and everywhere we looked, we observed a peculiar phenomenon in London: wholly infectious smiles from ear to ear. Weird.

Of course, spring is all about notions of rebirth, renewal and regrowth, so if there’s ever a time to give your interiors a spring fresh kick, it’s now. Here’s our pick of the best spring fresh design ideas.

Sassy Italian brand, Calligaris are a Fabric favourite and they’ve certainly got their spring on with these daffodil yellow dining chairs (top). Teamed with understated neutrals, this is exactly the pop of springtime colour we’re craving.

We love this minty fresh side table from Leitmotiv. Managing to be both retro and Scandi-cool, it would make the perfect addition to our spring-inspired home makeover. In fact, with storage space for books (the beautiful maple wood legs run through the body of the unit, creating partitions), we’ll take two for the bedroom.

Xavier & Me are a brand that are full of the spirit of spring, year round. We can almost smell the freshly cut grass with their  range of colourfully chic homewares in soft, sorbet hues. The digitally printed chevron stripes on this cushion will give your sofa a contemporary kick.

Filling your pad with foliage is one sure fire way to let the spring in. With its leaf-like geometric design and sturdy, solid wood base, this funky table lamp from Hunkydory Home is like a little tree in itself. Talk about fresh design ideas!

And it’s only natural that with the coming change in seasons we’re looking forward to the odd sip of something out on the patio. (Dare we?) The Conran Shop‘s Poppy Red Bench (launching soon as part of their new collection, A Season In France), has got us dreaming of those glorious, sunny spring days ahead. A bit previous? Well actually, as of tomorrow, no.
