Bollywood Boudoir Pop-Up

DeeZines is one plucky lady of a textiles designer who, 18 months ago gave up full-time work to set off around the world with her trusty sewing machine, collecting textiles and sewing up designs as she travelled through Europe, India and Australia. She calls her cushions ‘khushions’ after the Hindi word, kushi which means ‘living in happiness’ and we don’t know about you, but we’d certainly live life happy with these wonderfully intricate and elaborate designs in our homes.

Luckily for us, Salon Artisans, a pop-up initiative in Camden will be presenting Bollywood Boudoir at Belsize Park’s The George this Saturday lunchtime, coinciding with the pub’s newly renovated interior to appreciate.

DeeZines says, “after years of a broad career designing clothes, film, touring with rock bands and fundraising I decided to go on an adventure, follow my passion for textile design and catch up with friends around the world doing it. Pop-up Salons are a great way to bring together other creative spirits that you meet along the way to showcase a variety of passions.”

Also exhibited will be Australian artist, Gerry Brown’s Indian-inspired artwork as well as DeeZine’s beautiful hand prints. And a gold coin to Cancer Support in NW3 gives you the chance to win a door prize. Why not pop down, grab some lunch and enjoy.
