Armitage Lamps

London-based architect Joe Armitage picks up the design baton from his grandfather to recreate a strikingly beautiful standard lamp that was first imagined in India in the 1950s. Keeping it well and truly in the family, Joe’s modern-day version uses his grandmother’s pattern-rich hand-printed wallpapers, too. Conical in form, the shade resembles a graceful windsock, which points us in only one direction: the site from which we can purchase said beauty. Want, need, love.
