The Laslett’s collaboration with Sir Ridley Scott

The Laslett’s beautiful terrace pop-up celebrates the end of the summer sun.

Luxury Notting Hill townhouse hotel, The Laslett, teams up with film director Sir Ridley Scott’s Provence vineyard, Mas des Infermières in a beautiful terrace pop-up.

You’ve no doubt heard of Sir Ridley Scott. He is, of course, a renowned British film director and producer known for his visually striking and thematically rich films, such as Alien, and most recently, Napoleon. But did you know he owns a vineyard in Provence called Mas des Infermières. Located in the Luberon region, he produces wines that reflect the rich terroir of Provence. The name “Mas des Infermières” translates to “Farmhouse of the Nurses,” a reference to the vineyard’s history as a place where nurses tended to the wounded during wars. The estate produces a range of wines, including rosé, red, and white varieties, with a focus on traditional Provencal winemaking. The wines from Mas des Infermières are known for their quality and are a passion project for Scott, who has a long-standing love for the region and its culture.

As much as booking the next flight to Nice is tempting, you can drink these delicious wines a little closer to home. Luxury Notting Hill townhouse hotel, The Laslett has partnered up with Sir Ridley and Mas des Infermières with its alfresco terrace this summer, and it will do so until the end of September.

Featuring wines such as Sparkling Rosé Perle du Mas, available for the first time in the UK and suggested food pairings for each cuveé, the takeover sees elements of Mas des Infermières’ playful branding and artwork, illustrated by Ridley himself, throughout the space, and the terrace is home to a bespoke, branded wine cart, bringing the spirit of the vineyard to London.

The terrace at The Laslett, a celebrated West London hotspot, is a sun-drenched retreat adorned with herb and citrus-filled terracotta pots. This idyllic setting, combined with The Laslett’s reputation as a “home away from home” in the storied neighbourhood of Notting Hill, creates a perfect spot for guests to unwind, as well as for locals to come and relax. Situated across five Victorian mansions on Pembridge Gardens, The Laslett is just around the corner from Notting Hill Gate underground, although you wouldn’t know it tucked away on the peaceful terrace.

The food offering consists of carefully curated sharing plates, including light options such as watermelon and feta salad, and generously portioned ham hock croquettes, as well as marinated chicken skewers, chilli garlic prawns and hummus. Something for every palate, guaranteed to go down well with the wine (white, red, rosé and sparkling are available).

Comfy seating, heaters if you need them, and friendly and attentive service make for a memorable and cosy lunch or evening. Make summer last that little bit longer with a visit to The Laslett before too long.
