Sweet Charity

It’s that time of year again: bright red poppies are starting to appear on the lapels of Londoners everywhere as Remembrance Sunday looms closer (8 November, FYI), but did you know that this year, you can show your support with your stomach, too?

From 28 October until 13 November, Tom’s Kitchen will be selling special edition poppy cupcakes from their delis based at Canary Wharf and St. Katherine Docks, and we defy you not to pick one up and indulge. Filled with red velvet sponge and topped with a tempting scarlet sugar-crafted poppy, they’re enough to brighten up the dreariest of daily commutes. Better still, they come totally guilt free: for each £4 cupcake sold, Tom’s Kitchen will donate 50p to the Royal British Legion, the charity behind the Poppy Appeal, which provides lifelong support for the armed forces community, serving men and women, veterans and their families. This autumn, charity begins at Tom’s.
