Saturday Superstore

Wondering what to do with the wildlings (ahem, kids) this weekend? We’ve been watching the weather forecast with an impending sense of doom. It goes without saying that the unbroken spell of sunshine will end with a splash as soon as we’re all finally free to have some fun. So… softplay? Too physical. Swimming? Too splashy? Museums? Nah, they’ll never go for that. How about a spot of family fun at Marylebone design favourite The Conran Shop?

With kids very much in mind, the team have planned a day of fun activities to keep boredom at bay. Budding Einsteins, with a helping hand from Technology Will Save Us, can learn how to create electricity from playdough, using the wonderous ‘electro dough’. Seedling will be on hand for those looking to get crafty: Gina Foster wannabes can fiddle with feathers to create their own heavenly headwear, whilst the more down-to-earth might be more tempted by the idea of making a box kite (weather conditions might even be favourable to fly it up on Primrose Hill afterwards). And mini Prima Donnas needn’t feel left out; Dinky Do Dah will be in store offering manicures especially for little fingers, using solvent-free polishes from Nailmatic Kids.

Meanwhile, you can fulfil your design fantasies perusing the oh-so irresistible collection of homewares, arts and crafts, and vintage finds. And if you do succumb to temptation? Well, it’ll be the least you deserve after putting on such a stellar day’s entertainment for the littlies.
