Champagne and classic cars

If you’re addicted to automobiles and go all aflutter over flash cars, this is not to be missed: as part of their year-long centenary celebrations, iconic car co, Aston Martin is hosting the largest gathering of their vehicles in the history of the company with no less that 500 beauties from the past, present and future on Sunday 21 July. The collection will include royal cars, racing cars and the most stylish Aston Martins of the past 100 years.

And who could forget Aston Martin’s most dapper of drivers, Mr Bond? Seven of 007’s iconic cars will be on display including the DB5 from his most recent movie, Skyfall to drool over.

There’ll also be a section dedicated to Aston Martin’s major role in motorsport with a display of their most significant and successful racing cars to date.

And if that’s not enticing enough, further entertainment will come in the form of a fun-filled bandstand with performances of classic British hits from Kitsch in Sync, the Kensington Brass Band and the Crystal Palace Band.

General admittance is free to the public but VIP Park Privé access is £50 per person and includes tea, coffee and a glass of champagne. A VIP brunch and a limited edition branded hamper is also available.

What’s not to love? Even if we can’t afford to buy one of these curvy creatures in chrome, we might as well go and have a gander while we sip our glass of bubbly in the sunshine and swoon.
