Council cutbacks have meant that the skies of north London have remained woefully un-illuminated around Bonfire Night, but that is set to change with the arrival of Back With A Bang, which will do not only what it says on the tin, but much, much more. Realising that charging entry was the only way to reignite the fun, the organisers have gone to town to make sure you get plenty of bang for your buck; so, as well as a spectacular show of firepower, there’ll be ice skating, a street food market, a funfair for the little ‘uns and a German Bier Festival for the, er, not so little ‘uns, making the entry fee of £8 for adults and £5.50 for children seem like a snip. So before you sling on your scarf and gloves, grab your tickets online (while they’re still available), then whizz over on the big night to show your support. It’s going to be a cracker!
Saturday 2 November at Alexandra Palace, N22 7AY. Entry from 2pm, Fireworks start at 8pm, Bier Festival until 11pm.
