Art in style

London’s art lovers can immerse themselves in some fantastic works courtesy of Brown’s next month when the elegant hotel will open its doors to host its first ever London Art Weekend on 5 and 6 July. Acting as a super-luxe base from which you can explore the Capital’s greatest private galleries in Mayfair and St. James’s, and joining forces with Master Paintings Week and Master Drawings and Sculpture Week, there’ll be almost 100 free talks and tours to take in at your leisure. Indeed, a staggering 80 galleries and auction houses are taking part with exhibitions spanning three thousand years of art, from the ancient to the cutting edge.

Of course, all this great-gallery-going is hungry and thirsty work, so it’s rather handy that Brown’s are also offering a complementary brunch, created by Mark Hix, as well as specialist tours around the participating galleries, and even accommodation packages for those who can’t bear to stay away from W1 for the arty weekend. Mark Hix tells us: “Being a long-term patron of the arts and supporting both well-known and new artists, it makes sense that we should have a bit of fun and celebrate by hosting Brown’s London Art Weekend, home of HIX Mayfair, in the hub of the West End Mayfair gallery scene. In between gallery hopping, pop into Hix Mayfair for an art break brunch and a glass of bubbly.”

We can’t think of a more stylish way to see some of the Capital’s finest artworks. Make sure you sign up to attend the talks and get ready to lose yourself in art. Lovely!
