A very merry Marylebone

It is now just under a month until the big day; we have friends already posting Facebook pics of their trees and our esteemed publisher is champing at the bit to crank up the Christmas tunes. This is extreme behaviour, but there is no denying that it is December on Sunday – it is even our Fabric festive bash next week… The man in red will be dislodging soot in the chimney before we know it, so it is, without doubt, time to harness some of that holiday spirit (and – more to the point – crack on with that Christmas shopping). And there’s no better time to make a start than this Wednesday between 5 and 9 pm, when Chiltern Street will be chilling the Champagne, mulling the wine and warming up those mince pies for a special night of late night shopping.

Known for being one of Marylebone’s most exclusive shopping destinations, the street’s local businesses have clubbed together to throw a shopping extravaganza, offering special discounts and services for one night only, all to a soundtrack of live music from 12-year-old saxophone player Sam Barrett (youth winner of the Mayor of London’s GIGS Big Busk competition).

A million miles from the hell of the high street, Chiltern Street’s stylish boutiques are the perfect place to find unique gifts: think stylish menswear in Trunk Clothiers, luxurious scented candles from Cire Trudon, statement jewellery from Kohatu+Petros or gorgeous antiques from Claude Gallery. And the weather may be feeling decidedly parky, but The Cadenhead’s Whisky Shop and Tasting room offers an ideal solution to keep off the winter chill!

The best bit, though, is the special discounts being offered by a number of local businesses. Bharti Vyas Beauty Centre will be offering 20 per cent off their BVM treatments and their BVM RF Facial will cost only £99 instead of the usual £165.00, Sahara Clothing will be serving festive drinks and offering a 10 per cent discount, there’ll be 20 per cent off at General Leather and Monocle Café will be serving wine, beer and mulled wine at special discounted rates. And don’t even think about going home before calling in to West One Beauty, where they’ll be treating customers to a complimentary shape and polish for nails, and laying on Champagne and nibbles and goodie bags. We’ll be first in the queue…
