The doors may only have opened for the first time in September, but the culture and spirit of Wetherby Pembridge have been distinctive from day one.

Built on the renowned academic foundations of Wetherby and Pembridge Hall, this new senior school has already established a distinct identity and a history all its own. Wetherby Pembridge has been born of years of meticulous planning and preparation – from recruiting world-class teachers and crafting a rich, future-focused curriculum to designing and building the state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Olympia, Kensington.

And those facilities are truly extraordinary. The founding cohort have been the first to explore the professional-standard theatre, future-ready science labs, and cutting-edge AI and VR spaces. They have already made themselves at home in the library – featuring an eight-storey glass atrium – as well as the floors dedicated to performing arts and sport, and the 15-acre outdoor playing fields.

Yet Wetherby Pembridge is intentionally, impressively, much more than the sum of its parts. It is a community: one in which every student is seen, known, and supported every day to become the very best version of themselves. The spirit of the school lies in its people, and the possibilities the extraordinary school spaces create for them. Facilities matter, but it is how they are used – to bring students together, to nurture talent, to develop character – that gives Wetherby Pembridge its true substance and its soul.

Wetherby Pembridge Head

At the heart of this vision is Founding Headmaster Nick Page, who brings a wealth of leadership experience from some of the world’s most prestigious schools. He has held senior leadership roles at Harrow School and Westminster School, founded Harrow International School New York, and in 2024 established Wetherby Pembridge with Inspired. A linguist, examiner, and educational innovator, Nick knows that shaping a thriving culture comes not only from outstanding teaching, opportunity, and access, but also from strong values: kindness, respect, resilience, and ambition.

For him, these values are more than words on a page – they provide a framework and a compass for young people to hold onto and to follow, through their school years and in their later lives. These values also shape the way he leads, day to day. “One of the highlights of my role,” he reflects, “is greeting students each morning, seeing their energy and enthusiasm as they arrive, and knowing they are eager to learn, to be challenged and to challenge themselves. That’s who we are, and who we want to be”.

That philosophy extends directly into the teaching team. At Wetherby Pembridge, teachers are chosen not only for their first-rate academic credentials, but also for the breadth of experience they bring. Many have taught and led in some of the UK’s and the world’s most respected schools, combining deep subject knowledge with proven expertise in designing and delivering innovative education. The result is a teaching team with a rich, varied experience and a global perspective – one that nurtures intellectual curiosity, drives ambition, and provides students with the very best learning environment.

Wetherby Pembridge

The Wetherby Pembridge curriculum has been crafted around three pillars: academics, sports, and the arts. This holistic approach is designed to ensure that every student’s talents are discovered, developed, and celebrated. The aim is not only to prepare them to achieve outstanding academic results, but also to shape them into confident, resilient and resourceful individuals who are ready to thrive – and to bring others up with them as they rise.

Nick shared this vision with the first cohort of students, their families and a host of esteemed guests at the school’s Grand Opening. “In an increasingly polarised and fragmented world,” he explained, “we need to nurture the next generation of leaders who have the intellect to see a path forward, the character to bring others along with them, and the sense of service to lead change for the better.” At Wetherby Pembridge, students are encouraged to see themselves not only as achievers, but as contributors; individuals prepared to make a positive difference in the communities they join.

In its opening weeks, Wetherby Pembridge has already built a culture of success it so carefully envisioned – one rooted in community, guided by values, and brought to life every day by its students and staff. With world-class facilities, inspirational teaching, and a clear vision of the kind of young people it wants to shape, the school is setting a new benchmark for education in London and beyond.
