Starting Nursery is a significant milestone for any child – and for their parents. The team at Eaton Square Prep School understand the importance of making this first step into education a positive, enriching experience. From the moment the youngest pupils walk through the doors here, they are welcomed into a warm, safe, and happy environment where they are known, valued, and supported.

Eton Square Prep

Eaton Square Prep School’s Nursery programme is designed to foster confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, development is nurtured aross seven key areas – from communication and language to expressive arts and design. With small class sizes and a team of qualified, passionate Early Years educators, each child receives the individual attention they need to thrive.

Traditional values are blended with a forward-thinking curriculum, encouraging children to explore, question, and discover through purposeful play and gentle routines. Weekly specialist lessons in ballet, French, music, physical education, and swimming enrich the learning experience, while regular outdoor adventures in the Nursery’s Forest School and local parks help children connect with nature and build physical confidence.

Emotional wellbeing is at the heart of the Nursery experience. The Settling in Policy ensures that children transition smoothly from home to school, developing resilience, empathy, and self-awareness in a nurturing setting. And the inclusive community celebrates the diverse backgrounds, languages, and traditions of the school’s families, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect.

Every moment in the Nursery is an opportunity to grow – whether it is learning to share, expressing ideas through art, or enjoying story time with friends. Children build confidence through performances in assemblies and school productions, and they actively participate in whole-school events such as International Week, Book Week, and Sports Day.

The Nursery’s facilities are thoughtfully designed to support development – for example, soft play structures promote independence and enhance gross and fine motor skills. Wraparound care is offered from age 3, ensuring flexibility for busy families. Children enjoy healthy snacks and lunches, and the Nursery is proud to hold the Healthy Early Years London Silver Award.

The Nursery works closely with Parents at every step of the journey. Families are kept informed through Tapestry, regular parent evenings, weekly newsletters, and detailed school reports – ensuring a strong home-school connection.

The team at Eaton Square Prep School believe the early years should be filled with joy, curiosity, and meaningful connections. They invite you to visit and experience the warmth, excellence, and care that define our school.
